Every year Milpitas Firefighters Local 1699 donates money and time to benefit numerous charities, groups, and organizations focusing on the Milpitas community.
If you’re interested in supporting our mission to strengthen our local community, please consider donating some time or money to the causes listed below. We thank you for your contributions.
Milpitas Firefighters Toy Drive
We are here as public servants and do our best to meet the needs of this community both on duty and off. Holidays can be especially difficult for those who may be struggling to meet the demands of everyday life. The Local 1699 and the Milpitas Fire Department work every holiday season to alleviate some of that burden through the facilitation of our Toy Drive.
Kiwanis clubs, located in 80 nations, help their communities in countless ways. Each community’s needs are different—so each Kiwanis club is different. In Milpitas, we host an annual back-to-school drive for our underprivileged families. This is a wonderful opportunity to help families and get their children essentials for attending school. When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed, and thrive, great things happen.
Milpitas High Athletic Boosters
Every year we have the opportunity to support the Milpitas Chamber of Commerce through our participation in their annual crab feed. The Chamber of Commerce is comprised of volunteers forging stronger businesses, government, and community within the city of Milpitas.
Muscular Dystrophy Association
Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is the #1 voluntary health organization in the United States for people living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases. For over 70 years, MDA has led the way in accelerating research, advancing care, and advocating for the support of our families. We partner with MDA through their “Fill the Boot” program. This program has run from 1954 to present and is ran nationwide.
The Firefighters Burn Institute is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded by the Sacramento Area Firefighters Local 522 in 1973, for the purpose of establishing a local burn treatment facility; providing recovery programs for burn survivors; providing fire and burn prevention through public education; funding education for burn team professionals, firefighters, and burn survivors; and supporting burn treatment and rehabilitation research. Milpitas Firefighters get involved through their annual golf tournament and provides additional monetary support through charitable donations.
National Fallen Firefighters Foundation
"Our mission is to honor and remember America's fallen fire heroes, to provide resources to assist their survivors in rebuilding their lives, and work within the fire service community to reduce firefighter deaths and injuries." Along with our continued support of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation we also directly support neighboring agencies when tragedy strikes.
